ISLAMABAD: Ambassador of Pakistan to United States (US) Sherry Rehman on Sunday said that United States understands that all the major decisions on internal and external issues are now being taken in the Parliament.

Talking to a private television channel, she said that “When I took charge as ambassador in US, many issues were suspended that time due to Salala attack but now dialogue process starts between the two countries.”

Sherry said that present government is strengthening its relations with other countries also including Russia.

Replying to a question, she said that Pakistan is the main stakeholder for maintaining peace in the region and Pakistan's stance on Afghanistan issue position is clear that stability in Pakistan is related to stability in Afghanistan.

She said that it is necessary to realise the US that Pakistan itself also against the extremism and terrorism and fighting against terrorism in accordance with its agenda, resources and capacity.

Responding to a question about 'Malala incident', she said that attack on Malala united the entire nation, adding that “we should change the thoughts of public through education; just military operation could not resolve the problem.”

She said that the entire nation condemned this un-Islamic act.

She said that terrorists were minority in Pakistan and wants to impose their thoughts in the country through bullet but all political parties and public of the country are united to overcome this national challenge.

Replying to another question, she said that “if the daughters of Pakistan targeted for just to raise the voice for education then how we can not own this war against terror.”

She said that Pakistan sacrifices a lot as a frontline state in war against terror. She said that mainstream society and government have same view that terrorism and extremism on the name of Islam should be condemned.
