GUJAR KHAN, Oct 13: A committee formed by City District Government Rawalpindi (CDGR) has recommended suspension of Tehsildar Gujar Khan Malik Tariq Ameer, and revenue officials Khalid Mahmood, Mohammad Ilyas and Azhar Ayub Kiyani for tampering with land record to favour some influential of the area.

The committee was constituted by the district coordination officer, Rawalpindi, Saqib Zafar after receiving complaints from Haji Mohammad Ayub, a resident of village Negial Ummer Khan. The tampering was authenticated by Patwari Khalid Jameel, but who had to pay the price for showing honesty as he was asked to relinquish the charge on Saturday.

According to the findings, revenue functionaries and private persons were involved in the scandal.

“It has been proved that former patwari Azhar Ayub Kiyani, circle gurdawar Mohammad Ilyas have tampered with the record,” the report said.

The Gujar Khan tehsildar was found guilty of misconduct as he ignored the rules and instructions contained in the land record manual, states the inquiry report.

The inquiry team recommended immediate suspension of circle revenue officer (Tehsildar), two gurdawars  and a patwari  and  also 12 beneficiaries. Mahmood Gondal, additional district collector Rawalpindi.
