GILGIT, Oct 10: A woman and her daughter were stabbed to death in their house in the remote Nagir valley on Wednesday.

Fatima, who was arrested over the murder of her husband along with her daughter Najma, was freed by police after she settled the case with her in-laws out of the court.

Police said the two were stabbed to death in their house before being thrown in a water tank.

They said neighbours learned about the murder and informed police, which transported the bodies to the Civil Hospital. Police said the bodies were handed over to the family for burial. A case has been registered and two suspects have been arrested.
