KARACHI, Oct 4: Shahrukh Asim excelled with a fine all-round performance to help Shark CC defeat Orangi United CC by 23 runs in the Mehdi Hasan Memorial KCCA Inter-club cricket tournament fixture at the TMC Ground here on Wednesday.
After blasting 91 with the aid of seven fours and two sixes in a total of 230, Shahrukh bagged four wickets for 38 with his off-spin bowling as Orangi United CC were all out for 207 in the 34th over.
Fine batting by Rashid Raja (70 with eight boundaries and five sixes) and equally good bowling from medium-pacer Nadeem Shaikh (four wickets for just three runs) guided A.O. CC to a crushing 120-run victory over Mohammad Hussain Colts at the Asghar Ali Shah Stadium.
In other matches, Rising Star CC whipped Sabir Eleven by eight wickets at the Landhi Gymkhana Ground and Punjab CC beat Korangi Selected XI by 26 runs at the Pak Star Ground.
