RAWALPINDI, Sept 29: District Coordination Officer (DCO) Saqib Zafar on Saturday directed all departments concerned to hold the sport competitions of the Punjab Youth Festival 2012 on schedule.
He said all competitions should be well coordinated to ensure good players and teams get the opportunity to participate and compete at the divisional and provincial level.
This was said while the DCO presided over a meeting in his office, held to review the progress of the Punjab Youth Festival 2012.
Apart from the tehsil sports officers, Dr Mohammad Ashraf (Director College), Saif Anwar Jappa (ADCG, Malik Sher Mohammad (EDO Community Development), Ghulam Mohammad Gil (EDO Agriculture) and Qazi Zahoorul Haq (EDO Education) attended the meeting. Divisional Sport Officer Manzar Shah, District Officer Population Welfare Sherin Sukhan and District Sport Officer Wahid Baber were also present.
Mr Zafar said the active participation of male and female players in the competitions held at village, union council and tehsil levels provided an opportunity to the youth to demonstrate their talents in the games.
He said adherence to the schedule would help teams take part in the next phase of the competitions conveniently. He added that players who achieved success at local and district level would be able to demonstrate their good performance at the divisional and provincial level, earning the district a good name.
He lauded the performance of the departments concerned for organising the Punjab Youth Festival in the district.—A Reporter
