10 die in different incidents

SUKKUR, Sept 16: Six persons including minor children were killed in separate incidents near Thull district in Jacobabad on Sunday.

Reports reaching here said that the first incident took place in Goth Khabar Pahor where two minor children Shamim, 2, and Nadeem, 4, sons of Ghulam Yaseen Pahor, died when the roof of their house caved in.

In the second incident, Ms Raheeman, 40, wife of Mithal Pahor, was killed in Goth Sohrab Buriro in the incident of a wall collapse.

The third incident took place in Goth Ameer Bux Khoso where two minor boys Abdul Wahid, 4, son of Khan Muhammad Khoso, and Noor Muhammad, 5, son of Dildar, and a minor girl, Beebal Khatoon, 4, daughter of Hazoor Bux, died of gastroenteritis.

According to sources, no teams reached this village for relief activities, including medical assistance and supply of food.

The house of Khair Muhammad Thaheem in Family Line Muhalla in Jacobabad collapsed on Sunday, injuring his minor daughter Dua, 6, and brother-in-law Asghar Ali Thaheem. They were admitted to the Civil Hospital of Jacobabad.

At least 30 villages came under floodwater when a 40-foot breach developed in Naseer Shakh (canal) near the village of Sultan Sarki near Thull district in Jacobabad on Sunday.

Reports reaching here said villages coming under water were included Sultan Sarki, Ashique, Karim Bux, Shahul, Rozi and Sikander Sarki.

Breach water was going towards the small town of Mirpur Buriro as no efforts were made to plug the breach by the irrigation department.

DADU: Two devotees of Qalandar Lal Shahbaz drowned in Aral Wah in Sehwan on Sunday.

Baitullah Khan and Faizullah Khan, residents of Karachi, had come to Sehwan town with their families to visit the shrine of Qalandar Lal Shahbaz.

They lost balance while taking bath in the canal.

Incharge of Edhi centre of Sehwan Ashfaque Ahmed said the bodies had been fished out and despatched to their homes through Edhi ambulances.

UMERKOT: A boy drowned in a pond of rainwater near Umerkot and two other persons took pesticide to commit suicide in Samaro here on Sunday.

Pawan Oad, 11, of Chandiram Mohalla was taking a bath in the pond nearby his house when he drowned.

Shaukat Kumbhar, resident of Chaudhry Inayat, 15 kilometres far from Samaro, took pesticide and died on way to hospital. The body was handed over to relatives after a post-mortem from the taluka hospital of Samaro.

Sooraj Dhonkai, resident of the village of Dost Mohammad Dhonkai, took pesticide when his father stopped him from buying a mobile phone.

He was rushed to the taluka hospital of Samaro where his condition was out of danger.

No case of all three incidents was registered till filing of this report.
