Housemaid beaten up

ISLAMABAD, Sept 15: A 12-years-old housemaid was beaten and injured by her employer here on Saturday for allegedly stealing Rs50,000, police said.

Nasreen Bibi was brought to Ramna police station by a man who spotted her in G-10/4 in a critical condition.

On inquiry, the girl stated that her employer and his wife had beaten her with a stick while accusing her of theft.

The police said that she had injuries and was shifted to hospital for medical examination. A case will be registered against the employer in the light of the medico legal report.

The police said that after completion of the medical examination the girl was brought to the woman police station and kept there, as her family lives in Bhurewala and is likely to arrive in the city on Sunday.

The employer of the family was yet to be approached, and police said that after registration of the case they would interrogate them for treating the girl in such a manner.

Besides, the allegation leveled at the girl would also be investigated, police added. —Staff Reporter
