NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, Aug 8: Police on Wednesday recovered a Pakistan Air Force official kidnapped from the National Highway near Doulatpur on July 31.

Flight Lieutenant Waqas Ali and Captain Bilal Usman were going to Rawalpindi from Karachi in their car when armed men kidnapped Waqas near Doulatpur and Captain Bilal escaped.

SP Tariq Razzaq Dharejo told Dawn that on receiving information about the presence of dacoits in kutcha area near Bhorti Patan, a heavy police contingent was sent to the area. Kidnappers sensing the danger opened fire and an encounter ensued.

Police were able to get released the hostage from their clutches.—Correspondent
