PESHAWAR, Aug 3: The Peshawar High Court on Friday granted bail to former provincial minister and leader of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, Abdul Subhan Khan, in a murder case. A single bench comprising Chief Justice Dost Mohammad Khan accepted bail petition of the former minister, observing that keeping in view the evidence on record the petitioner was entitled to be set free on bail.

The high court had over a month ago granted transit pre-arrest bail to the petitioner and directed him to approach the court concerned in Mardan. However, the court of additional district and sessions judge turned down his pre-arrest bail application, following which he was arrested.

The petitioner is charged in a case registered at Shahbaz Garhi police station in Mardan on March 25, 2012, by a widow, Ms Mehnaz.
