PESHAWAR, Aug 2: Central deputy amir of Jamaat-i-Islami Sirajul Haq has said that Pakistan People’s Party-led coalition government has failed to resolve problems being faced by the nation and its main reason is the rulers’ selfishness and distance from Islam.

He said this while speaking as chief guest at a launching ceremony of a book on the life of JI leader Dost Mohammad Khan titled “Haji Gul Shaheed” at Peshawar Press Club on Thursday. Dost Mohammad Khan was among the 24 people who were killed in a suicide blast at Qissa Khwani bazaar while leading a protest demonstration against loadshedding in April 2010.

Mr Haq said that the government had been serving the imperialist forces and that was why people were facing the wrath of Allah.

He said that enforcement of Islamic system was the only way to solve problems of the country. The JI leader said that the nation should forge unity and force the rulers to announce enforcement of Shariah system in the country. He said that the JI believed in public service and its workers, including Dost Mohammad, laid down their lives while demanding smooth supply of electricity in the affected areas of Peshawar. —Bureau Report
