LAKKI MARWAT/GHALANAI, July 31: Police claimed on Tuesday to have arrested two militants during a raid in Chuharkhel village in the limits of Shaheed Haibat Ali Khan police station in Darra Pezu town of Lakki Marwat.  

“Acting on a tip off, a police party raided a house in the village and arrested a militant identified as Mamraiz Khan of Shah Hasankhel,” said an official. He said that during initial interrogation the arrested militant disclosed that his accomplice Naqeebullah was also hiding in the village.

“Mamraiz was wanted by police in Shah Hasankhel suicide blast and other terror acts,” the official said, adding that police also arrested his accomplice Naqeebullah.

In Mohmand Agency, unidentified militants kidnapped a driver and his assistant and burnt their truck in the border area of Baizai tehsil on Monday night.

The kidnapped driver was identified as Akhtar Gul, a resident of Sultankhel area of Haleemzai.

The political authorities confirmed the kidnapping incident and said that investigations were launched to find a clue to the kidnapped persons. — Dawn Report
