HYDERABAD, July 29: Workers of the Jeay Sindh Quami Mahaz (JSQM) demonstrated outside the press club here on Sunday in protest against registration of a murder case against their colleagues.

Carrying JSQM flags, they shouted slogans against members of the Kotri zonal office of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) who had lodged an FIR after the murder of a minor girl and nominated as accused Deedar Sham, general secretary of JSQM’s Kotri chapter, and Yousuf Chandio, a worker of JSQM.

Leading the demonstration, vice-chairman of JSQM Akash Mallah said Sham and Chandio were innocent and alleged that the MQM was trying to destroy peaceful atmosphere of Kotri.

He appealed to the MQM leadership to intervene and prevent the party’s Kotri chapter from fanning flames of hatred.

Deedar Sham said Khushbu, daughter of Mushtaq, had been shot dead in her home a few days ago as a result of a family dispute. —Staff correspondent
