KOHAT, July 14: The district administration of Hangu has taken stringent security measures for the visit of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ameer Haider Khan Hoti, expected on Monday (July 16).

The administration has also imposed Section 144 in the district for three days to secure routes and effectively maintain law and order situation on the occasion.

During his daylong visit the chief minister would inaugurate power supply from 132KV transmission line besides announcing development projects for Hangu district.

The local administration has decided to deploy 800 more policemen during the chief minister’s visit expected tomorrow (Monday). Besides, it has banned carrying of petrol, arms and ammunition and gathering of more than five persons, while entry to the venue of public meeting would be strictly on invitation cards.

The administration had banned entry of Afghan refugees into Hangu city on Sunday (today) and Monday whereas motorcycle riders would not be allowed on main city roads on Monday.

It would be second public meeting of Mr Hoti in the restive Hangu district.

Before that former chief minister Aftab Sherpao had held a public meeting in Hangu in 1993.

Former chief minister Akram Khan Durrani had come to Hangu to attend passing out parade at police training college, which was an official function. Former prime minister Benazir Bhutto had also visited Hangu in early nineties, but her tour remained confined to the headquarters of Orakzai Agency.
