CHARSADDA, July 12: The district administration will punish those found to be selling hazardous meat and substandard beverages. It will also take action against those selling different essential items on rates other than the official prices and send teams to check hoarding and black-marketing during the holy month of Ramazan.
The decisions were taken at a meeting of the district price review committee with the District Coordination Officer Ajmal Khan in the chair.
The meeting set prices of different essential items and directed that each shop will prominently display price list. The DCO asked the shopkeepers to maintain the official price list during the month of Ramazan. He also stressed the need for shopkeepers to refrain from selling substandard items otherwise action would be taken against them. He also said inspection teams will conduct raids to ensure prices according to the official list.
He also ordered smooth supply of ice blocks for consumers during Ramazan. The DCO ordered action against profiteers and hoarders.
RELEASE OF SALARIES: The teaching staff and other employees of Bacha Khan Trust and Education Foundation have demanded release of their salaries pending for the last seven months.
In a press release issued on Thursday, they said salaries had not been paid to them since December 2011, adding they were still performing their duties just for the sake of future of the children.
They said when they contacted the director of the foundation to apprise him about their problem he said the payment would be made after getting foreign assistance.
