KHAIRPUR, Dec 16: National People’s Party MNA Dr Mohammad Ibrahim Jatoi has criticized the arrest of MPA Younus Khan from the premises of Sindh Assembly and termed it police highhandedness.

Talking to newsmen here on Monday, he said that if Khan was wanted in any case, the police could have arrested him outside the assembly.

He said that the coalition government of the Pakistan Muslim League-Q, the Muttahida Qaumi Movement, the NPP and the PML-F would prove a strong government and would strengthen democracy in Sindh.

To a question, he replied that he would fight Sindh’s case of water and jobs in the National Assembly.

He said that water was a matter of life and death for the people of Sindh and if Punjab was found involved in stealing Sindh’s share of water, they would lodge a protest with the Centre.

ACCIDENT: One person was killed and eight were injured when a Sukkur-bound wagon overturned near Ranipur on the National Highway on Sunday.

The deceased was identified as Mohammad Yousuf Brohi, 70.

The injured included Jan Mohammad Brohi, Sahib Dino Hingoro, Uzma, Mohammad Azeem and Mohammad Afzal Hingoro.

The injured were shifted to a Ranipur hospital, from where they were referred to the Khairpur Civil Hospital.
