AS a senior citizen I feel encouraged that your newspaper is giving space to fellow senior citizens on the subject of relief in our society. This relief is warranted on many counts that need not be mentioned here as merit counts little in this country.
In Pakistan, one has to plead and appeal and seek mercy (not justice) for the redressal of one’s genuine complaint.
The National Savings directorate and government of Pakistan are, therefore, requested to take cognizance of the rising inflation and raise the rates of profit of the investors.
In order not to overburden the directorate, it is suggested that the rates be enhanced for individual investors only and rates for corporate investors should remain lower.
The least one desires for the senior investors is the acceptance of demand, appearing in your recent columns for enhancing the limit of Behbood Certificates from Rs3 million to at least Rs5 million. Let mercy prevail if not justice.
