TIMERGARA, June 3: The Asbanr Adenzai police said on Sunday that they had arrested two accused charged in a woman’s murder case, while raids were being conducted for their other accomplices.

Talking to media persons, Asbanr’s new SHO Haider Zaman said that the two accused, identified as Fazal Amin and Khan Mian, both residents of Asbanr, had been arrested. The woman, Bakht Tehsila Bibi, was killed on May 12 when she was returning to Asbanr after a local court at Chakdara decided a divorce case in her favour.

The judge had handed her over to a relative, Bacha Rahman. During a press conference later Mr Rahman had accused the local police of backing the accused and not providing adequate security to them.

A resident, meanwhile, told Dawn that the main accused had fled the country a few days ago.

RELIEF ITEMS: Lower Dir leaders of Jamaat-i-Islami on Sunday demanded of the government to order investigation into how relief items were left to decay at Timergara’s official warehouse.

In a statement issued here, JI district chief Maulana Asadullah and former MPA Muzaffar Syed said that a huge quantity of relief items meant for flood-affected people of Lower Dir had been lying unused and expired because of the government’s negligence.
