KARACHI, Dec 12: The immigration department of the Federal Investigation Agency arrested Mohammed Farooq at the airport on Thursday while he was to board a flight for London on a forged British passport.

Assistant Director Shazad Salim, the on-duty officer, detected the tampered passport and upon initial investigation it was revealed that the passport originally belonged to Mohammed Mehmood, brother of Mohammed Farooq.

Inquires further revealed that he had paid Naseer Butt, a travel agent of Karachi, Rs22,000 for changing the photograph on his brother’s passport.

The case has been transferred to the passport cell of the FIA. — PPI
