ISLAMABAD, May 28: The Bhara Kahu police on Monday arrested a ‘faith healer’ on the charge of depriving two women of their gold ornaments.

Rescue-15 received a complaint from a villager that some women at Qaziabad were engaged in a scuffle. The police reached the spot and came to know that one of the groups was accusing the other of stealing their gold ornaments.

The investigation showed that two women from Dhoke Jillani had come to Qaziabad to get spiritual treatment against black magic from ‘Pir’ Ali Ahmed.

Mr Ahmed, who along with his family, including wife and a niece, provided spiritual treatment to people, asked the women to take off their gold ornaments - earrings and lockets. However, after getting the treatment, the women found their valuables missing. When inquired, the Pir and his family showed ignorance, which led to the quarrel.

Police claimed that they recovered the gold ornaments from the house of the Pir and put him along with his wife and niece behind bars. They will be produced in the court for seeking their physical remand for further investigation.

The police said the Pir was residing in the area for the last 12 years. The two girls had been getting treatment from the Pir for the last three weeks. He used to call his visitors in a separate room and deprived them of their valuables.
