Pakistan kick-off Al-Nakba campaign with draw

KARACHI: Pakistan’s opening match of the Al-Nakba International football tournament against Vietnam ended in a goalless draw on Wednesday at the Majed Asad Stadium in Palestine.

Saddam Hussain came close to scoring for Pakistan early in the game but could not convert Faisal Iqbal’s cross into a goal.

Pakistan squandered many chances during the game and will find it difficult to qualify for the semifinals with only one point from their opening match. Pakistan play hosts Palestine on May 18 in a must-win encounter.
