A novel idea: The Readers Club

Usman Siddiqui and Jawad Yousuf are two entrepreneurs who had a novel idea about a website for books in Pakistan. A few years ago they created The Readers Club; Pakistan's "first online library".

At the Reader's Club, members can borrow books online and have them delivered to their doorstep for reading pleasure on a regular basis.

A few years in they launched Kitabain.com which is a website for buying and selling books, that also allows you to do so from the comfort of your home, and from anywhere in Pakistan.

The duo have now ventured into audiobooks and have started recording books in Urdu, they plan on launching this soon. Watch the video to learn about their current websites as well as their latest idea.

It is a wonderful idea and i am one of the beneficiaries of it. I used to spend a good sum of money every month on buying the books, which I get now from Readers Club at a fraction of cost and above all the books of my choice are delivered at my door step. You are doing an excellent job. I wish you success in your efforts and pray that soon you would have a million members.

excellant job done..one day our BA passed leader would also understand the importance of books.it is the easiest and most effective antidote to all our problems,specially the biggest menace - extremism and terrorism.

We really need to revive the idea of reading books ... its one of the best investments... good books of course are the best friends too ... its cheaper than DCL.. and home delivered... only drawback is that you don't get the book you want right then so you have to select a number of them.. but then its worth compromising... The guys have done really hardwork and are doing a GREAT JOB!!
