LAHORE, May 3: Two unidentified men were found murdered in drain in different parts of the city on Thursday, police said.

The beheaded body of a man in 30s was found in a drain near Gandi Bambina Stop in Shafeeqabad.

Police were alerted by witnesses who spotted the body of a young man stuck in the drain.

Police shifted the body for autopsy and launched investigation.

Police said the man’s head was not found and his hands and legs were tied.

In another incident, a 30-year-old man was found murdered in Rohi Drain in Kahna.

Kahna police were informed by witnesses who spotted the body of a young man floating in the drain near Gajjumatta Stop.

Police pulled out the body and shifted it for autopsy. Investigators spotted marks of bruises over the body and confirmed the victim, not yet identified, was slain.

ACCIDENT: Four school children and a rickshaw driver were injured after a rickshaw they were travelling turned side down at Nakhuda Chowk in Shadbagh on Thursday.

Rescue ambulances shifted driver Majid and children Kashif, Atif, Imran and Sarmad to Mayo Hospital.

Arrested: The National Highways and Motorway Police N-5 Central claimed to have arrested 31 criminals involved in snatching vehicles and cattle theft, pick-pocketing and possession of illegal weapons.

Police also seized three vehicles, arms and ammunition, nine cell phones, cash and other valuables from criminals during the last 10 days. The patrolling force also reunited six children with their parents.

According to a handout issued here on Thursday, NH&MP officers managed to nab 31 suspects, including Yasin, Falak Sher, Akbar, Mubarik, Shafiq, Dilshad, Ghazanfer, Saeed, Iqbal, Rashid, Asghar, Adnan, Riasat, Ahmad, Iftikhar, Anwar and Shaukat, in different incidents.

A snatched Mehran car (MN-1862), a stolen Corolla car (FD-660) along with a Kalashnikov and a 9mm pistol, a snatched Suzuki car (LWB-5858), fake registration number plates, huge amount of arms and ammunition, nine cell phones and other valuables were also recovered from them.

The arrested criminals and recovered items were handed over to the local police for further legal action.

Separately, police also helped physically-challenged 12-year-old Sobia Dawood, four-year-old son of Arif, eight-year-old Hamza Gulzar, nine-year Fiaz Hanif, 10-year-old Ashfaq Haqnawaz and seven-year-old Rehan Babar reunite with their aggrieved families.
