HYDERABAD, April 27: Hyderabad Blues and Whites recorded victories in the District U-16 League Cricket Championship here at the Niaz Stadium on Thursday.

In the first match of the day, Hyderabad Blues outplayed the Hyderabad Reds by nine wickets.

After electing to bat first, Hyderabad Reds posted a modest 105-8 in the allotted 20 overs. Mohammad Faraz (35), Khizar Butt (28) and Moazzam Ali Nizamani (16) remained the main scorers.

Leg-spinner Kaleem Siddiqui claimed three wickets for 22 while Junaid Khan, Danyal and Ali Hamza took one wicket each.

The Blues achieved the target comfortably in 12.5 overs while losing only one wicket. Danyal Rajput hit 42 and Hunain Raza 27. Mohammad Waqar took the only wicket.

In another match, Hyderabad Whites beat Hyderabad Greens by 19 runs.

Batting first, the Whites scored 164 for six in 20 overs. Zubair Khan smashed 81 studded with four sixes and seven boundaries and Raheel Meo struck 41 featuring seven boundaries. Areesh Jafri (2-14) and Mohammad Osama (2-19) remained the main wicket-takers.

In reply, the Greens could make 145-9 in their quota of overs. Mohammad Zain scored 60 that contained three sixes and six boundaries.

Asad Malik hit 26 (four fours, one six). Furqan Butt grabbed three wickets for 33 while Zubair Khan took two for nine runs. Jahangir Khan had figures 1-14.

In the games held earlier, Hyderabad Whites downed Hyderabad Reds by 45 runs while the Blues overwhelmed the Greens by six wickets.
