LAHORE, April 25: Robbers with the help of a security guard looted cigarettes worth Rs2 million and other valuables from the warehouse of a cigarette distribution company near Begum Kot Chowk in Shahdara at midnight on Wednesday.

Shafique Dogar, who is distribution manager at Sheikh Muhammad Illyas Private Limited, told the police that their security guard Syed Muhammad Taqi rendered fellow guard Tariq Khan Baloch and loader Muhammad Qasim unconscious by giving them poisonous food in late hours and tied them with the help of his accomplices.

The suspects broke open the locks of godown, looted Rs40,000 cash, cigarettes of different brands worth Rs2 million, a UPS worth Rs30,000, company pistol worth Rs18,000 and a cell phone worth Rs2,000 and fled on their vehicle.

Police registered a case under sections 381 and 337-J of the Pakistan Penal Code.

HOUSE ROBBERY: Robbers looted cash, gold ornaments and other valuables worth Rs1.4 million during three house robberies.

Four robbers barged in the house of Qaiser in Johar Town police limits and took away cash and valuables worth Rs500,000.

Some robbers stormed the house of Ikram in Sundar police limits and looted cash and valuables worth Rs500,000.

Some robbers entered the house of Mehboob in City Raiwind police limits and looted cash and valuables worth Rs400,000.

STREET CRIME: Two robbers stopped Zahid in Musfataabad police limits and deprived him of Rs200,000, a cell phone and his motorcycle.

Two robbers stopped Khurram and his family in Ichhra police limits and robbed them off cash and valuables worth Rs400,000. Two robbers stopped the family of Jabbar in Islampura police limits and deprived them of Rs300,000.
