LAHORE, April 15: A constable suffered wounds after two motorcyclists opened fire on policemen at a picket in Mustafa Town police limits here on Sunday.

The police said some policemen at a picket near Samsani Khoi signalled two motorcyclists, but the suspects opened fire instead and fled.

Consequently, constable Kashif Sharif suffered injuries and was admitted to Jinnah Hospital.

BODIES FOUND: Bodies of an unidentified woman and a man were found in different parts of the city on Sunday.

The police believed the victims were murdered after being abducted by some unidentified people.

Sundar police found the body of a young woman in Sundar canal and shifted it to a hospital for an autopsy. Investigators found marks of bruises on the body.Liaquatabad police found the body of an unidentified man in his 30s from near the parking stand in R-Block of Model Town and shifted it to a hospital for an autopsy. Investigators spotted marks of wounds at the victim’s skull.

KILLED: A motorcyclist was killed in a hit-and-run accident in Gulshan-i- Iqbal here on Sunday.

The police said Tariq of Nizam Block was hit by a car near his residence. He succumbed to his wounds at a local hospital.

Tariq, a father of six, was a labourer by profession.

ROBBERY: Four robbers barged in the house of Saifur Rehman in Nishtar Colony police limits and escaped after looting cash and valuables worth Rs500,000.

CAR STOLEN: Thieves stole the car (LWA 6155) of Muhammad Shahzad Anwar from National Park in Gulberg police limits. The police have registered a case.
