KARACHI, Dec 8: Eid was celebrated in Karachi with religious fervour.
Eid prayers were held in about five hundred places in the city. The main congregation was held at Bagh-i-Quaid-i-Azam where Governor Mohammedmian Soomro, provincial ministers, City Nazim Naimatullah Khan and members of diplomatic corps of Islamic countries offered prayers.
There was no report of any law and order situation, However a fire broke out in a garment factory in block 15, Karimabad Industrial Area, which was stated to have been caused by a short-circuit. No one was injured in the incident.—PPI
