KARACHI, April 6: An alleged bandit was killed and his accomplice wounded in what police claimed to be an encounter in North Nazimabad within the remit of the Taimuria police station on Friday.

The police said that four bandits near the Medicare Hospital were allegedly looting some persons who had drawn cash from a bank.

Meanwhile, a police party arrived there, upon which the bandits tried to flee firing at the police.

The police returned fire in which two suspects were wounded, but, the two others escaped.

Two TT pistols were seized from the alleged bandits, the police said. The wounded suspects were taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. However, during treatment, a suspect, later identified as Gul Mast, died, they said.

The other wounded suspect was identified as Siyal Bakhat, the police added.

The police claimed that the two suspects who had fled were identified as Wazir and Yar Khan.
