HYDERABAD, March 27: The German Consul-General in Karachi, Dr Tilo Kilnner, has said that Germany will protect the interests of Pakistan in the European Union.

Talking to the office-bearers of Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (HCCI) here on Tuesday, he emphasised the need for exchange of trade delegations between Pakistan and Germany.

The President of the Chamber, Mr. Goharullah, welcomed the distinguished guests and said that the diplomat’s visit would provide an opportunity to members of HCCI for reciprocal discussions and interaction to boost up export and import operations in the mutual interest of both the friendly countries.

He further said that business community of Hyderabad felt that there were immense opportunities and demanded access of Pakistani goods in the German markets. “We confidently hope that your visit will be helpful for business and industrial community of Hyderabad to export their manufactured goods to German markets and to import German goods in Pakistan and there are vast opportunities to increase the trade volume between our two friendly countries in near future,” the chamber chief said.

HCCI President said that we also know that Germany was one of the biggest European trade partners and some of the major Germany companies were making investments in Pakistan.

However, the business forums of both the countries may further accelerate and enhance their efforts in increasing the bilateral trade relationship on sound and stable footing, he said.

Hyderabad, he added, had been the hub of business and industrial activities in the interior of Sindh.
