SUKKUR, Feb 29: The Sukkur circuit bench of the Sindh High Court issued on Wednesday bailable warrants of Sindh Finance Secretary Naveed Kamran Baloch for his failure to appear in court in a case filed by employees of the Public Health Engineering Dep-artment.

The bench, comprising Justice Shahid Anwer Bajwa and Justice Mohammad Ali Mazhar, had summoned the secretary but he did not appear in court during its last hearing.

The employees who had sought regularisation of services, stated in the petition that they had been working in the department for more than 15 years as contract employees.

The court had passed orders on May 25, 2010 to regularise the employees’ services but the orders were not implemented.

The employees filed on Feb 12 a contempt of court application in the court which issued a notice to the finance secretary to appear in court. The next date of hearing has been fixed as March 6.
