NOWSHERA, Feb 24: Additional sessions judge-III, Nowshera Sajad Ahmad Jan along with the civil judge-cum-judicial magistrate on Friday set up a camp court in the judicial lock-up here and ordered release of 18 prisoners involved in petty crimes.

The jail superintendent Falk Sher told reporters that eight prisoners were released on the spot while the remaining will be released within two or three days after completing legal formalities.

The judges also met with other prisoners and heard their problems individually. They instructed the prison officials to keep the jail environment clean. The judges said prisoners were human beings and should be treated as such especially when they were presented before the courts. POLIO VACCINATION:

Ulema and civil society activists should play their due role in making people aware of the importance of vaccination of their children against polio.

The appeal was made by participants of a meeting held here the other day, which was attended by former MNA and JUI-S leader Hamid ul Haq, Maulana Ibrahim Fani, Mufti Shaukat Ali and EDO health Dr Arshad.

They said every child, including those in the hardest-to-reach areas must be vaccinated against polio to help eradicate the disease from the society. They strongly condemned the myth against the polio vaccination that it caused infertility.

Meanwhile, body of an unidentified young man was found in a canal near Risalpur. Police said the man, 26, was killed before his body was thrown in the canal. The police buried the body as no one identified it.
