LAHORE, Feb 19: Unidentified people broke into the house of Muhammad Sohail in K-Block of Defence Housing Authority early on Sunday and made off with 60 tolas of gold ornaments, cash and other valuables. Defence A police registered a case.

DEAD: An elderly man died by suicide at his Mozang Road home on Sunday, police quoting his family said.

Quoting Rabia Aslam, Civil Lines Station House Officer Abid Rashid said 58-year-old Muhammad Aslam shot in his right temple.

She said she heard gunshot and rushed to father's room to find him collapsed on the bed. She altered the police.

The SHO said Aslam had two wives and seven children and had been suffering from multiple diseases for the last one week or so.

He brought his revolver from his school in Shadman four days ago for security reasons.

Aslam was living with his second wife, mother of five, while his first wife, mother of two, passed away some time ago. IGP:

Punjab IGP Muhammad Habibur Rehman on Sunday conducted a surprise visit to the Faizabad police station in Nankana Sahib.

The Faizabad SHO briefed the IGP on the law and order situation, says a handout. The provincial police chief was informed that the police station was working in a rented building and shortage of funds was leading to lots of problems.

The IGP visited various sections and the attached lockup and assured the officials of consideration of their demands.
