LARKANA, Feb 8: The Sindh Assembly Speaker on Wednesday announced construction of an overhead bridge in Larkana over the Rice Canal at its Lahori regulator.

Speaking at a reception hosted by the Municipal Labour Union, Mr Khuhro said the decision was taken in view of the increasing traffic flow, adding that another bridge over the Rice Canal, on Nishtar Road, would be widened.

He said the government was committed to providing basic amenities, claiming that 65 kilometres of roads had been built in Larkana over the past four years.

“The PPP-led government will complete its tenure despite conspiracies hatched against it.

I’m confident this government will present its fifth budget in June,” Nisar Khuhro said.

He said a public park would be developed near Larkana’s central jail and urged municipal workers to work hard to keep the city green and tidy.

Mr Khuhro also announced donation of a fire brigade to Larkana Municipal Committee.

The Speaker said land for graveyards would be allotted in every part of the district after getting approval from the chief minister.

Reacting to demands made by the CBA, Mr Khuhro said 129 temporary sanitary workers of the Larkana Municipal Committee would be regularised.

MURDERED BOY: Nisar Khuhro visited the house of Suleman Khokhar, an eight-year-old boy whose only head was found on Tuesday, and offered condolences to his parents.
