KARACHI, Jan 27: Navy and Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) registered victories as Habib Bank Limited (HBL) and Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) played a draw on the second day of the 59th National Hockey Championship at Hockey Club of Pakistan (HCP) on Friday.

Navy beat PHF Academy 3-0. Two goals for the winners were scored by Rashid Mahmood (23rd and 43rd mins) on individual effort while Waqas-ul-Haq (68th min) added another by converting a penalty-corner.

In another match, PIA beat Army 5-3. The goals for the winners were scored by Inayatullah (10th min), Kashif Ali (32nd and 65th min), Nohaiz Malik (34th min) and Adnan Javed (69th min). Army’s three goals were scored by Mohammad Rizwan (51st min), Mohammad Safeer (52nd min) and Mohammad Imran (55th min).

The match between HBL and SSGC ended in a 2-2 draw. Adeel Hussain (11th min) and Mohammad Ehsan (68th min) scored for HBL while Abbas Haider (53rd min) and Shakeel Abbasi (70th min) got SSGC’s two goals.

Saturday’s fixtures: NBP v PHF Academy (11.00am); Army v PQA (1.00pm); PAF v Wapda (3.00pm).
