TRAFFIC jams in Karachi are a normal routine, especially between 5pm and 9pm.

The main problem with traffic jams in Karachi is that there are so many vehicles on the roads. Lots of new vehicles are registered daily and they come on the roads which is why the quantity of vehicles increases in Karachi.

Everyone wants that he should travel very comfortably and reach his destination as fast as possible. It’s for saving time that they use their vehicles. No one prefers public transport for travelling. Public transport in Singapore covers a variety of transport modes such as bus, rail and taxi. This is a result of great emphasis by the Government of Singapore in order to promote its use over private transport. About 5,308 million trips are made on a daily basis on the public transport system, and the government decreases the population at half the level.

The public transport system is the most important means of transportation for going to work. About 52.4 per cent of Singaporean residents (excluding foreigners) go to work using public transport. The Government of Singapore charges high amount on private vehicles in order to promote public transport.

The Government of Pakistan should spend money to improve public transport. Doing so will also minimise traffic jams and decrease pollution.
