KARACHI, Jan 25: Talha Zubair reached the semi-final of Boys’ U-18 in Subh-e-Nau Ranking Tennis on Wednesday at the CDGK Sports Complex tennis courts.

Talha overcame Murad Khan in straight sets. Ayesha Meer in ladies’ singles won her match against Amber Khan. In another match of ladies’ singles, Neha Khan was declared winner after her opponent Urooj Iftikhar retired due to poor health. Urooj withdrew herself from match when she was one point behind her opponent.

Amin Shafi won his match against Mohammad Danial by 2-0 in Boys U-11 category. Abd-e-Ali Mohammad was victorious after a well-contested match against Fiza Ghanchi in the Girls U-11 category by 7-5. 6-4.

Wednesday’s results: Boys’ U-18 (quarter-final): Talha Zubair bt Murad Khan 6-2, 6-2.

Ladies singles (Round robin League): Ayesha Meer bt Amber Khan 6-0, 6-0; Neha Khan bt Urooj Iftikhar 4-3 — Urooj retired.

Boys’ & Girls’ U-11 (Round robin league): Abd-e-Ali Mohammad bt Fiza Ghanchi 7-5, 6-4; Amin Shafi bt Mohammad Danyal 6-2, 6-0.—Agencies
