Cache of arms seized

KOHAT, Jan 19: A huge cache of arms bound for Karachi was recovered from a truck coming from Darra Adamkhel on Indus Highway on Thursday.

The police impounded the truck number E-1116 and arrested two alleged militants, Amanullah and Masood, residents of Darra Adamkhel.

DPO Mubarek Zeb Khan told journalists that the outlaws were carrying the consignment to Minran Shah from where it was to be smuggled to Karachi.

The seizure included nine Kalashnikovs, 130 pistols, 11 repeaters, six hand grenades, two rifles, 6,500 cartridges, 180 chargers, nine silencers and two telescopes.

It also included some tools used in preparation and repair of weapons.

The Riaz Khan Shaheed police station registered case against the accused and launched preliminary interrogation and efforts to reach other members of the group. — Correspondent
