CHAKWAL, Jan 17: A woman was gunned down by her nephew for bringing bad name to the family, police said on Tuesday. Ghiba Khan, a resident of Rahna Sadat village told Kallar Kahar Police that her daughter Nighat Bibi, 35, had been living with him for the last couple of months as she was divorced by her husband due to domestic disputes. On Tuesday, she left the house without informing the family members. At this, her nephew, Dilawar Hussain, shot her dead with 30-bore pistol.

Talking to Dawn, Investigation Officer Ali Akbar said that Nighat was married twice and was divorced by two husbands. “She used to leave her home without informing the family members and this act enraged her young nephew, Dilawar Hussain, who killed her for saving family honour”, the IO said and added that the murderer would be arrested soon. —Correspondent
