KARACHI, Jan 15: The Inter-firms table tennis tournament gets into action at Islamia Club’s Majeed Khan Gymnasium on Monday with men’s team event on card.

According to the draws, 29 outfits have been drawn into eight groups and after round robin league, group champions will advance to knockout quarter-finals.

The draws of the other three events — men’s singles, women’s singles and men’s doubles — will be taken out on Monday. The formal opening of the event will be held at 6pm.

Groups:

One: Pakistan State Oil A, Pakistan Petroleum Limited B, CDC B.

Two: GSK, State Bank B, Orient Pak, Hino Pak B.

Three: State Bank A, Pakistan State Oil B, Trans Xpress, Asia Petroleum.

Four: State Life, Pak Mercantile A, Sanufi Aventis A, Pak Suzuki.

Five: Pakistan Petroleum Limited A, Popular Industries, SSGC.

Six: Allied Engineering A, CDC A, AKD Securities, Wi-tribe B.

Seven: Mansha Brothers, Allied Engineering B, Pak Mercantile B, Sanufi Aventis B.

Eight: Hino Pak A, KMC, Wi-tribe A.—Sports Correspondent
