KARACHI: Expressing confidence on the newly-appointed board of trustees of the Karachi Port Trust, the secretary ports and shipping hoped the members coming from different trades will implement the policies announced by the ministry of ports and shipping.

Secretary Port and Shipping Agha Sarwar Raza Qazilbash visited the KPT’s headoffice on Friday and held a meeting with the newly-appointed board of trustees. The secretary chaired the KPT board of trustees’ meeting. Chairman KPT Muhammad Aslam Hayat briefed the meeting about the ongoing mega projects.

Later, the secretary visited the Manora Dry Dock and took interest in the ongoing repairs and maintenance works at the KPT workshop.

Mr Qazilbash was informed that the Manora Dry Dock was established in 1901. However, its current rehabilitation was second as a similar work was undertaken in 1986.
