SUKKUR: Journalist passes away

SUKKUR, Nov 25: The local correspondent of daily Ummat, Atiq Ahmed Atiq, passed away on Monday morning after suffering from a cardiac arrest. He was 62.

His Namaz-i-Janaza was offered at the Makki Masjid. It was attended by a large number of people from all walks of life, including journalists and members of the traders community.

He was buried in the New Goth graveyard.

He has left behind a widow, two sons and seven daughters.

In an emergency meeting, the Sukkur Union of Journalists expressed grief over the death of its founder president, and prayed to Almighty Allah to rest the departed soul in eternal peace.
