KARACHI, Dec 19: A passport agent was shot dead in the Sindhi Muslim Housing Society area on Monday, police said.

They said that assailants riding a motorbike targeted Sohail Elahi alias Kalia when he was passing through Sindhi Muslim Housing Society’s Block A on his motorcycle.

The victim sustained two bullet wounds in the head and died on the spot. The suspects fled. The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for legal formalities.

A duty officer at the Ferozabad police station said that the victim was an agent at the passport office. It appeared that the assailants chased him from his home in Lines Area and targeted him near Sindhi Muslim Society, he added.

The victim was father of three children. His family said that he had some dispute with his relatives.
