BADIN, Dec 17: The two men, kidnapped on the 24th of last month because of mistaken identity, returned home on Saturday. Police had recovered them earlier from near Shahdadpur after conducting a raid on the hideout of kidnappers.

A teacher by profession, Najeeb Shah and his uncle Shiraz Shah were kidnapped by four unidentified people from near Sujawal in Thatta district while they were on way from Badin to Karachi.

Later, the vehicle was found abandoned near Sujawal police station.

SSP, Badin, Naveed Khowaja said in a press conference that the kidnappers had targeted someone else who too, had left Badin for Karachi at the same time but in another vehicle while lending his own to the unlucky duo.

Kidnappers, initially demanded Rs300 million in ransom and reduced it to Rs200 million in the second instance which the family denied to give.

SSP Naveed informed of rounding up three associates while the main accused was still at large.

The kidnapping took place with the help of a policeman who informed the accused of the departure schedule of the unlucky men, he said and added that the name of policeman would only be revealed once the investigations was completed.

Badin police got the information of kidnapping with the help of Thatta police, he said.

Police raided Ali Bahar village in Thatta and arrested Nawaz Soomro, Aziz Soomro and Ali Ahmed Brohi. Soon after retrieving information from the trio, Badin police raided their hideout near Shahdadpur and recovered the two kidnapped men.
