LAHORE, Dec 15: Three meetings of important wings of the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) will be separately held here on Dec 26.

First, the PHF women’s council will meet and, later on, the PHF executive board and the PHF congress will discuss performance of senior and junior teams, events scheduled to held in 2012, budget estimates, besides approving audited statement of accounts and appointment of auditors.

The executive and congress meetings are of great importance because crucial decisions have to be taken by the PHF after the poor show of the national senior and junior teams in the recently concluded Champions Trophy and Junior Azlan Shah Cup held in Malaysia, respectively.

Pakistan earned seventh place in the eight-team contest in Auckland, while the juniors could only earn fifth place in the six-team contest.

However, it will be very difficult for both wings to take any major decision in order to go into the Olympics with high hopes, since time is short in the London Olympics scheduled to be held in August 2012.
