KARACHI, Dec 15: A young woman was shot dead at her parents’ house in Korangi on Thursday, police said.

They added that 24-year-old Haleema, wife of Mohammad Bilal, suffered three bullet wounds in the attack and died on the spot.

Zaman Town SHO Hatim Marwat quoted her stepmother, Sumaira, as saying that Haleema was killed by her ex-husband who along with two other men barged into the house.

Her father, Abdul Shakoor, had been at sea on a fishing trip for 10 days when she was murdered, he added.

The official said the woman used to live with her husband in New Karachi and went to her parent’s house on Thursday.

The police shifted the body to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for a post-mortem examination.

An FIR pertaining to the incident was yet to be lodged at the police station till Thursday night.
