KHAIRPUR, Nov 22: At least 400 sanitary workers of the Taluka Council Khairpur observed strike on Friday against the non-payment of their salaries for the month of October.

Due to the strike, sewage could be seen on the streets and roads in most areas of the town. Garbage too could be seen lying all around.

The municipal workers held a demonstration in their colony. Later, they observed a protest sit-in on the Katchery Road.

They were demanding that their salaries for the month of October be paid.

The protesters were later joined by other lower staff including clerks of the Taluka Council.

STRIKE: The sanitary staff of Union Council Thari Meerwah observed strike on Friday protesting against the non-payment of their salaries since the last two months.

The protesters also held a protest demonstration in front of the office of the Taluka Council Thari Meerwah.

TWO DACOITS HELD: The DPO, Khairpur, Mohammad Afzal Malik, told newsmen that the police had arrested two dacoits near Karmabad late Thursday night.
