HYDERABAD, Dec 13: A point bus of the Sindh University was torched in Bhitai Nagar on Tuesday by some miscreants. Few youths asked the students to alight before setting it on fire. However, no one was injured.

SSP Hyderabad Asad Raza, at a press conference, hinted the involvement of bus driver and conductor against whom inquiry was being held.

Reportedly, police were said to have arrested some people in this regard.

Earlier, police and Rangers personnel had to break open locks put at the hostel gates by some youths to facilitate students in cheating during the ongoing examinations. Rangers visited the examinations halls and the university.

A press release issued by the university's registrar said that security arrangements were in place for examinations while some lawbreakers torched a point bus and kidnapped the cleaner and driver.

The examinations, he said, will be held as per the schedule.
