KARACHI, Dec 2: The administrative judge of the anti-terrorism courts in Karachi on Friday remanded four suspected militants of banned Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan in police custody till Dec 9.

The CID police claimed to have arrested the four suspects — Abdul Sattar alias Sheikh, Mohammad Shoaib, Shah Fhad and Nasrullah — on Dec 1 in the Mochko area and seized a huge cache of unlicensed weapons and explosives.

The CID produced the suspects before the administrative judge of the ATCs, Justice Faisal Arab of the Sindh High Court, and sought their remand.

The court remanded the suspects in police custody till Dec 9 directing the investigation officer to produce them on the next hearing.

The suspects were booked in many cases pertaining to possessing illicit weapons, explosives and encounter with police, etc.

The police also claimed that the alleged terrorists were associated with the proscribed TTP and were planning to attack Muharram processions in the city.

Meanwhile, two witnesses on Friday picked out four suspects during an identification parade as the men involved in a robbery in a Chinese company. The four suspects — Mujahid Gul, Wasi Rehman, Ashan and Ishaq — have been arrested for their alleged involvement in the case.

Judicial Magistrate (west) Afzal Roshan conducted the identification parade after completing all legal formalities.

The witnesses, Imtiaz and Asif, identified the suspects and assigned their roles in the commissioning of the offence. The same set of suspects were also identified by two other witnesses in a murder case.
