KARACHI, Nov 30: Four persons, including a medical university professor, on Wednesday night were recovered and four suspected kidnappers were arrested in a joint operation by the Anti-Violent Crime Cell of police and the Citizens-Police Liaison Committee.

Among the victims were retired colonel Dr (Prof) Iftikhar Abdi who was kidnapped on Nov 16 from Northern Bypass within the remit of the Manghopir police station, Nisar Soomro who was abducted on Nov 23 within the jurisdiction of the Sachal police station, Amin Lakhani and Sher Ali who were kidnapped four days back within the remit of the Mobina Town police station, said CPLC Chief Ahmed Chinoy.

All four victims were recovered from Bahadur Goth, situated near Afghan Camp, off the Superhighway, the CPLC chief said.

The four suspects were identified as Anwer Rind, Arshad Brohi, Ahsan Jatoi and Bakhtawar Mehsud. A pistol found in their possession was seized during the operation.
