KARACHI, Nov 19: Chief Secretary Sindh, K.B. Rind, has directed the department of agriculture and fisheries to make the Korangi Fish Harbour Authority (KFHA) functional and start aggressive marketing at this channel.

He issued the directive in a meeting held at his office here on Tuesday. The meeting was attended by Nazim Karachi Naimatullah Khan, secretary Agriculture, Aftab Qureshi, Commodore Tayyab Naqvi, MD Karachi Fish Harbour Authority, Iqbal Turk and other officials.

The meeting took stock of the problems of the Karachi Fish Harbour Authority and the progress regarding the construction of the road from Ibrahim Hyderi to Rerhi Village by the city district government.

The chief secretary issued directive to the home secretary and IG police regarding the deployment of staff at police posts set up on the route to the Karachi Fish Harbour. He expressed satisfaction over the provision of medical facilities to fishermen and directed that the condition of the area hospital be improved.—APP
