Cane items have been used as part of home and garden furniture due to it's versatility, elegance and durability. This furniture normally requires little maintenance. In Pakistan rattan is now preferred over bamboo and is imported from Singapore. Rattan can easily be split to form flexible sections, which can be woven to make items of furniture.
